TI’s legal department is seeking a talented Patent Attorney with a background in an area such as digital signal processors, microcontrollers, processor architecture, wireless communication circuitry, analog circuit design, and/or semiconductor device manufacturing. As a Patent Attorney at TI, you will immerse yourself in our cutting-edge technologies, developing a thorough understanding that will enable you to create inventive patent strategies.

Responsibilities

  • Conducting in-depth analysis of various technologies. 
  • Drafting and prosecuting patent applications in alignment with strategic goals. 
  • Collaborating with engineering teams to identify patentable inventions.
  • Developing and maintaining a portfolio of patents in the designated area of expertise.
  • Providing legal counsel on patent-related matters, including infringement and licensing.
  • Technology Immersion: You will have the ability to cultivate a profound understanding of cutting-edge technology, fostering expertise in your chosen domain. 
  • Leadership of Patent Strategy: You will drive the development and execution of patent strategies, leveraging your expertise to develop comprehensive and interrelated approaches.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s  in Electrical Engineering or related field
  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree with an active license to practice law 
  • 4+ years of patent application drafting and prosecution experience
  • Registration as a patent attorney with the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office
  • Admission in good standing with a state legal bar
  • Advanced degree preferred
  • 3+ years of experience as an engineer or scientist in a technical role
  • Experience and familiarity with digital signal processors, microcontrollers, processor architecture, wireless communication circuitry, analog circuit design, and/or semiconductor device manufacturing
