As a Cloud Engineer, you will be a key contributor to 66degrees' global client engagements, focused on building, maintaining, and optimizing complex infrastructure and data systems on Google Cloud Platform (GCP). Your expertise will be instrumental in ensuring the performance, scalability, and security of these critical cloud environments.
Responsibilities
~1 min read- →Design and implement highly scalable and resilient infrastructure solutions on GCP in collaboration with architects and cross-functional teams.
- →Automate intricate infrastructure provisioning and management by enforcing advanced Infrastructure as Code (IaC) principles using tools like Terraform or Google Cloud Deployment Manager.
- →Integrate and champion DevOps methodologies, establishing sophisticated CI/CD pipelines within the cloud ecosystem.
- →Implement and enforce stringent security measures and compliance with data privacy regulations (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA) across the GCP environment.
- →Architect and deploy comprehensive monitoring, alerting, and logging solutions to guarantee continuous health and availability of all infrastructure components.
- →Formulate, oversee, and test comprehensive backup and disaster recovery strategies for mission-critical systems.
- →Proactively analyze, identify, and mitigate complex performance bottlenecks, continually optimizing infrastructure for maximum efficiency.
- →Diagnose and swiftly resolve intricate infrastructure issues, providing expert guidance and support to delivery teams.
- →Create and maintain comprehensive documentation of cloud architecture, configurations, and processes to ensure a clear knowledge repository.
- →Collaborate effectively with diverse teams, including data scientists, engineers, and developers, to ensure alignment with requirements and deliver innovative solutions.
Requirements
~1 min read- Minimum 3 years designing, deploying, and managing cloud infrastructure on Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
- Deep understanding of essential GCP services (Compute Engine, Kubernetes Engine, Cloud Storage, Networking, IAM) and familiarity with Kubernetes.
- Proficiency with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools, including Terraform or Google Cloud Deployment Manager.
- Experience deploying and optimizing Google Cloud Data services (BigQuery, Cloud SQL, Dataflow, Firestore, Cloud Bigtable, Dataproc, Pub/Sub).
- Proficiency in scripting languages (Python, Bash) for automation; experience managing Linux and Windows operating systems.
- Strong grasp of security best practices, compliance frameworks (e.g., CIS, GDPR, HIPAA), and implementation experience.
- Excellent problem-solving, communication, and collaboration abilities.
- GCP Professional Cloud Architect or Google Cloud Associate Cloud Engineer certification.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent work experience.
