As an Exchange Safety and Security Associate at the Exchange, you will be a part of an award-winning team. We are committed to hiring our military members and their families, along with anyone who wants to give back to those who serve. In this role, you will help protect Exchange associates, customers, merchandise, and property while supporting a safe and secure shopping and working environment. So, what can you expect as a Safety and Security Associate at the Exchange?
- Conduct surveillance in retail, food, and services facilities and/or distribution centers to detect acts of pilferage or other illegal or dishonest acts.
- Monitor Exchange facilities and operations to help protect merchandise, property, customers, and associates.
- Survey physical working conditions or work practices that could result in injury or illness to customers or associates, or damage to property.
- Observe, identify, and properly document suspicious activities, safety concerns, and potential losses.
- Prepare clear, accurate, and professional written reports regarding incidents and observations.
- Work closely with management and other appropriate personnel to support loss prevention and safety objectives.
- Maintain professionalism, discretion, and attention to detail when handling Loss Prevention matters.
Job Qualifications
- Retail Loss Prevention, or Law Enforcement is preferred
- Strong observation skills with the ability to recognize suspicious activity and potential safety concerns
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Must be able to type and prepare clear, accurate reports
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications
- Able to learn and adapt to current technology needs
- Able to work independently and use good judgment when responding to situations
- Strong attention to detail
- Must have flexible availability
- Available to work weekends, holidays, and nights
- Must possess a professional and helpful attitude when interacting with customers, associates, management, and other personnel
- Must be dependable and able to maintain confidentiality
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to follow established loss prevention and safety procedures

Requirements

Completion of high school or the equivalent. Six months of experience in protection of property, maintenance of order, enforcement of laws, and related work.
