EMS Continuing Education Coordinator

This is a full-time, in office position

• Directly responsible for the implementation of the EMS System, continuing education program.
  •     1)Develops, administers and teaches the continuing education program for System EMT-Ps and ECRNs.
  •     2)Evaluates and oversees recordkeeping of programs and reports back to the System.
  •     3)Represents GSH EMS within Region VIII for overall development of Regional education needs.
  •     4)Directly responsible for the implementation of the EMS System mandatory bi-annual exams for the System ECRNs and paramedics.
  •     5)Assists EMSS Coordinator at System meetings (ALS, Associate Coordinators, Chiefs, Physicians, Consortia, Education and Advisory Board).
  •     6)Assists EMSS Coordinator in reeducation of new and existing providers at the department level.
  •     7)Assists in the teaching of both the paramedic, ECRN classes and any specialty courses such as PEPP, ACLS and PHTLS.
  •     8)Responsible for annual Facilitator Seminar.
• EMSS Quality Assurance Coordinator
  •     1)Directly responsible for the development and implementation of the GSH EMSS Quality Assurance program.
  •     2)Coordinates QA efforts with other Region VIII Resource Hospitals at the direction of Region VIII Medical Directors.
  •     3)Evaluates QA data collected, provides feedback to Region, System and providers concerning performance.
  •     4)Coordinates QA activities and results with educational initiatives for Region VIII and GSEMSS.
