At Lingo, we’re building a groundbreaking health platform that combines continuous biosensor data, real-time analytics, and personalized insights to help people live fuller, longer, and healthier lives. Our systems ingest millions of sensor readings daily, powering experiences for consumers and partners worldwide, with the reliability and scalability of cloud-native, enterprise-grade platforms.
Responsibilities
~2 min read- →Own the end-to-end architecture of Lingo's Partner Platform, covering partner onboarding, data sharing, and data ingestion, and maintain a clear architecture roadmap aligned with product and business priorities.
- →Define architecture principles, reference designs, and integration patterns that the engineering team uses to build partner capabilities consistently.
- →Lead architecture and design reviews, document key decisions (e.g., architecture decision records), and ensure technical debt and trade-offs are visible and managed.
- →Assess the current platform, identify gaps and risks, and drive a pragmatic plan to evolve it as the number and variety of partners grows.
- →Architect secure, scalable APIs, webhooks, and event streams that allow authorized partners to access consented Lingo biosensor data and insights.
- →Design user consent and authorization models (e.g., OAuth 2.0 / OpenID Connect) that give consumers clear control over which partners can access their data and for what purpose, including easy revocation.
- →Define fine-grained access controls, data minimization, rate limiting, and audit trails so every data share is traceable to a user's consent and a partner's contractual entitlement.
- →Set API standards, versioning, and deprecation policies that let Lingo evolve its platform without disrupting partners.
- →Architect the pipelines and integration framework that ingest partner data such as activity, sleep, nutrition, and workout data into Lingo's platform to enrich the user experience.
- →Define data contracts, schema management, normalization, and data quality controls so partner data is accurate and trustworthy before it reaches users.
- →Design for a range of integration patterns, including REST APIs, event streaming, batch/file-based exchange, and mobile health platforms (e.g., Apple HealthKit, Google Health Connect), using standards such as FHIR where applicable.
- →Guide the design of API documentation, SDKs, and reference implementations that reduce time-to-integration and reliance on Lingo engineering.
- →Serve as the senior technical point of contact in partner integration discussions, assessing technical feasibility of new partnerships alongside Product and Partnerships.
- →Partner with Security, Privacy, and Compliance to ensure partner integrations are designed to meet HIPAA, PHI, GDPR, CCPA, and other applicable standards through privacy-by-design.
- →Define non-functional requirements, SLOs, and observability standards for partner-facing APIs and data pipelines.
- →Work in close partnership with the Product Manager to translate partner and user needs into technical strategy, sequencing, and feasible roadmaps.
- →Mentor engineers on architecture, API design, and data engineering practices, raising the technical bar across the team.
