Why Access?
Because how we work matters just as much as what we do. At Access, our Culture Playbook isn’t a poster on the wall—it’s how we show up for each other and for the people we support. As a Direct Support Professional (DSP), you bring that culture to life every day.
You’ll be part of a team that is:• Clear about expectations• Supportive and accountable• Focused on outcomes that matter to people
And committed to helping people live the healthiest and fullest lives possible—while making sure our staff can do the same.
As a DSP, you’ll support adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities in a residential setting—helping them live with dignity, independence, and purpose. This is a hands-on role where your presence, consistency, and compassion directly impact daily life.
What You’ll Do
You’ll provide day-to-day support that helps people live meaningful, self-directed lives:
Provide direct, person-centered support• Assist individuals with daily living activities (personal care, meals, hygiene, mobility)• Support people in building independence and life skills• Follow individualized service plans that reflect each person’s goals and preferences• Encourage choice, voice, and active participation in daily routines
Build connection and community• Develop positive, respectful relationships with the people you support• Support participation in community activities, social events, and personal interests• Promote culturally responsive, person-centered experiences
Support health and safety• Administer medications (with AMAP certification) and monitor health needs• Recognize and respond to changes in behavior or medical status• Maintain a safe, clean, and supportive living environment• Follow all safety protocols and report incidents as required
Stay organized and accountable• Complete accurate and timely documentation• Track daily activities, progress, and outcomes• Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors• Follow schedules and program expectations consistently
What You’ll Bring
• A genuine interest in helping others live fulfilling, independent lives• Patience, reliability, and strong interpersonal skills• Ability to follow plans and maintain attention to detail• Comfort working in a team-based, structured environment• Willingness to learn and grow in the role• Basic technology skills for documentation and communication
Additional expectations include:• Ability to obtain and maintain AMAP certification• Keep all trainings current• Reliable transportation and valid driver’s license
Education & Experience
• Experience in human services or working with people with disabilities is preferred—but not required
