The Senior Infrastructure Engineer will be responsible for providing advanced technical expertise within a Managed Services environment, serving as a senior escalation point for complex infrastructure issues, and leading the end-to-end resolution of critical incidents, infrastructure projects, and root cause analysis initiatives while driving reliability, automation, and continuous service improvement.
Responsibilities
~1 min read- →Incident Lifecycle Ownership: Own the full lifecycle of complex infrastructure incidents from detection through resolution and post-incident review, ensuring accountability for technical outcomes, stability, and documentation.
- →Critical Incident Leadership: Lead investigation and resolution of high-severity infrastructure issues, coordinating across internal teams, vendors, and customer stakeholders.
- →Technical Decision-Making: Provide end-to-end ownership of infrastructure issues and make critical technical decisions without escalation dependency.
- →Project Delivery Leadership: Lead technical delivery of infrastructure projects including scoping, estimation, design, implementation, and deployment.
- →Root Cause Analysis: Perform detailed RCA and define long-term remediation strategies to prevent recurrence of infrastructure issues.
- →Change & Design Validation: Review, validate, and approve infrastructure changes, designs, and remediation plans.
- →Technical Mentorship: Provide guidance, coaching, and mentorship to junior engineers.
- →Documentation Contribution: Develop and maintain architecture documentation, diagrams, and operational runbooks.
- →Automation & Optimization: Design and implement automation and process improvements to enhance system reliability and operational efficiency.
- →Change Management Participation: Participate in change management, governance, and project planning activities.
Requirements
~1 min read- Professional Experience: 6–10 years of experience in enterprise IT infrastructure support and engineering roles.
- Functional Skills: Strong expertise in troubleshooting complex multi-system infrastructure environments, incident management, infrastructure design, and solution implementation.
- Technical Skills: Deep knowledge of virtualization, storage, operating systems, and cloud platforms. Strong experience with VMware vSphere, enterprise infrastructure technologies, and cloud platforms (preferably Google Cloud Platform). Exposure to Cisco UCS, Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops (CVAD), enterprise storage systems, and infrastructure automation.
- Soft Skills: Strong leadership, accountability, problem-solving mindset, attention to detail, proactive attitude, and ability to work under pressure in critical environments.
- Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to engage effectively with technical teams, vendors, stakeholders, and clients.
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).
