JOB OVERVIEW Job Id: H-MD-131484 Profession: Physician Specialty: Emergency Medicine Job Type: Locum Tenens Location: Meridian, Mississippi Coverage Period: Sep 05, 2026 – Ongoing Reason for Coverage: Coverage Travel, Lodging, and Malpractice Insurance: Covered REQUIRED PROCEDURES Moderate Sedation JOB REQUIREMENTS Board: BC/BE in Emergency Medicine, Family Medicine, or Internal Medicine Licenses: Active unrestricted MS medical license, DEA with MS address (Schedules 2,2N,3,3N,4,5) DEA / CDS: Active DEA and CSR (if required by state) Certifications: ACLS, ATLS, PALS (if not board certified in EM or EM trained) Experience: Completion of 3-year residency in EM, FM, or IM with moonlighting approval; 2,000+ contact hours in ED or acute care within last 2 years Other Qualifications: Proof of 40 CME hours over past 2 years; case logs for past 2 years; supervising NP/PA experience DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES Provide comprehensive emergency medical care to patients presenting to the ED. Supervise and serve as backup physician for Nurse Practitioners and Physician Assistants. Perform moderate sedation procedures as needed. Maintain accurate and timely documentation in accordance with facility policies. Collaborate with emergency department staff to ensure high-quality patient outcomes.
