JOB OVERVIEW Job Id: H-MD-130141 Profession: Physician Specialty: Emergency Medicine Job Type: Locum Tenens Location: Michigan City, Indiana Facility: Franciscan Health Crawfordsville Health System: SCP Health - Locums Coverage Period: Aug 01, 2026 – Ongoing Reason for Coverage: Coverage Travel, Lodging, and Malpractice Insurance: Covered PATIENT INFORMATION Average Daily Volume: Approximately 47 patients per day Case Mix: Consistent with Emergency Medicine procedures FACILITY INFORMATION No. of Beds in Department: 15 beds Specialty Backup Available: Yes, dependable specialty support Support Staff Available: APC support (10 hrs/day), RNs PRIVILEGES & COMPLIANCE Hospital Privileges Required: Yes REQUIRED PROCEDURES Moderate Sedation JOB REQUIREMENTS Board: BC/BE in Emergency Medicine (ABEM/AOBEM) or ABMS-recognized specialty with 5 years experience Licenses: Active IN Medical License, IN State Controlled Substance, DEA with IN address and schedules 2,2N,3,3N,4 DEA / CDS: Active DEA and IN Controlled Substance License Certifications: BLS/CPR Experience: New EM residency graduates within 12 months accepted; IM with 5 years continuous full-time in high-volume ED (>30k visits/year) Other Qualifications: Completed CME Attestation Form, case logs for past 2 years, current immunizations (Flu, TB, COVID) DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES Provide 24-hour physician coverage in a 15-bed Emergency Department with approximately 17,000 annual visits. Supervise and collaborate with APC support during 10-hour shifts. Perform moderate sedation as required. Manage patient throughput and ensure efficient workflow. Work collaboratively with specialty backup and support staff.
