JOB OVERVIEW Job Id: H-MD-134648 Profession: Physician Specialty: Emergency Medicine Job Type: Locum Tenens Location: Mount Vernon, Ohio Facility: Knox Community Hospital - EMHealth System: SCP Health - Locums Coverage Period: Sep 08, 2026 – Ongoing Shift Schedule: 12-hour shifts, 7a – 7p and 7p – 7a Hours Per Shift: 12 Reason for Coverage: Coverage Travel, Lodging, and Malpractice Insurance: Covered PATIENT INFORMATION Average Daily Volume: Approximately 68 patients per day Case Mix: Moderate acuity FACILITY INFORMATION No. of Beds in Department: 17 ED beds Support Staff Available: Nurse Practitioners and Physician Assistants (22 hours/day) PRIVILEGES & COMPLIANCE Hospital Privileges Required: Yes REQUIRED PROCEDURES Moderate Sedation JOB REQUIREMENTS Board: BC/BE in Emergency Medicine, Internal Medicine, or Family Medicine Licenses: Active, unrestricted Ohio medical license; Active DEA with Ohio address and schedules 2,2N,3,3N,4,5 DEA / CDS: Active DEA with Ohio address and schedules 2,2N,3,3N,4,5 Certifications: NRP required; ACLS, PALS, ATLS required for FM/IM physicians Experience: Residency trained in EM, IM, or FM Other Qualifications: Case logs for previous 2 years; seasonal influenza vaccine required DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES Provide comprehensive emergency medical care to patients in a 17-bed ED with approximately 25,000 annual visits. Work 12-hour shifts, including both 7a-7p and 7p-7a coverage. Supervise Physician Assistants and collaborate with Nurse Practitioners (22 hours/day APP support). Perform moderate sedation and other emergency procedures as required. Maintain required certifications and documentation including case logs and immunizations.
