JOB OVERVIEW Profession: Physician Specialty: Hospitalist Job Type: Locum Tenens Location: Warren, Ohio Service Setting: L&D, OB/GYN Coverage Type: Clinical + Call Coverage Period: ASAP – Ongoing Shift Schedule: Days, 7a-7p Reason for Coverage: Supplemental Travel, Lodging, and Malpractice Insurance: Covered PATIENT INFORMATION Patient Demographics: L&D unit – OB patients Case Mix: Low and high-risk OB pregnancies, GYN surgeries FACILITY INFORMATION EMR System: Epic Specialty Backup Available: Yes, other OB/GYNs Support Staff Available: RNs, CNM PRIVILEGES & COMPLIANCE Hospital Privileges Required: Yes Credentialing Timeline: 120 days REQUIRED PROCEDURES Obstetrics Procedures: Low Risk Pregnancy (history of twins, toxemia, pyelonephritis, etc.), High Risk Pregnancy (toxemia, diabetes, Class II or higher cardiacs, chronic lung problems, chronic renal disease, etc.) Labor and Delivery Procedures: Routine Delivery – Vaginal, Low Forceps, Decision-Making for C-Section; Complicated Delivery – C-Section, Breech, Multiple Births, Abruptions, etc.; VBACs; Repair of 3rd & 4th Degree Lacerations Gynecology Procedures: Laparoscopic Diagnostic/Minor Only - Tubal Ligation, LOA's, Chromal Tubation; Surgical Gynecology – Open JOB REQUIREMENTS Board: Board Certified or Board Eligible in Hospitalist Licenses: Active Ohio medical license or willingness to obtain Certifications: ACLS, BLS, PALS NPDB report required at time of presentation (pulled within 30 days) Duties & Responsibilities Provide labor and delivery coverage for the hospitalist model, including vaginal deliveries and C-sections. Manage high-risk and low-risk OB patients, including complications such as toxemia, diabetes, etc. Back up midwife services and respond to call for midwife from 7p-7a. Perform emergent GYN surgical procedures (laparoscopic and open) as needed for unassigned ER patients. Collaborate with RNs, CNM, and other OB/GYN providers to ensure continuity of care.
