JOB OVERVIEW • Job Title: Pediatric Ophthalmology • Job Type: Locum Tenens • Location: Fort Myers, FL • Service Setting: Hospital and Ambulatory Clinic • Coverage Type: Clinical Only • Coverage Period: July 8, 2026 – August 31, 2026 • Clinical Shift Schedule: Tuesday Clinic (8 Hours) - Wednesday NICU Rounding and Follow-Up Clinic as Needed COVERAGE DATES • July 1, 2026 • July 22, 2026 • July 29, 2026 • Additional August dates may become available PATIENT INFORMATION • Patient Demographics: Neonates, Infants, Pediatric Patients • Patient Volume/Census: TBD • Admissions: Yes • Rounding: Included • Case Mix: Retinopathy of Prematurity (ROP), Pediatric Ophthalmology, NICU Consultations, Follow-Up Treatments FACILITY INFORMATION • No. of Beds in Department: TBD • Trauma Level: Children's Hospital • EMR System: TBD • Office Equipment Available: Ophthalmology Clinic Equipment • Specialty Backup Available: Neonatology, Pediatrics, NICU Services • Support Staff Available: Nursing Staff, Clinic Staff, NICU Team PRIVILEGES & COMPLIANCE • Hospital Privileges Required: Yes • Temporary Privileges Available: TBD • Credentialing Timeline: TBD COMPENSATION & BENEFITS • Rate: TBD • Travel, Lodging, and Malpractice Insurance: Covered REQUIRED PROCEDURES • ROP Screening and Evaluation • NICU Ophthalmology Consultations • Pediatric Ophthalmology Examinations • ROP Treatment and Follow-Up Care • Outpatient Pediatric Eye Care JOB REQUIREMENTS • Active Florida Medical License • Board Certified or Board Eligible in Ophthalmology • Active DEA • Certifications: As Required by Facility • Experience: Pediatric Ophthalmology Experience Required • Other Qualifications: Experience with Retinopathy of Prematurity (ROP) Evaluation and Treatment Preferred DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES • Provide pediatric ophthalmology coverage for vacation relief • Conduct outpatient clinic services on Tuesdays • Perform NICU rounds for ROP screening and evaluation on Wednesdays • Provide treatment and follow-up care for ROP patients as needed • Collaborate with NICU, Neonatology, and Pediatric teams • Document patient care according to facility standards • Participate in orientation and required compliance activities prior to first shift
