JOB OVERVIEW Profession: Physician Specialty: Vascular & Interventional Radiology Job Type: Locum Tenens Location: Lansing, Michigan Service Setting: Hospital Based Coverage Type: Clinical + Call Coverage Period: Asap – Ongoing Shift Schedule: Mon – Fri, 7a – 5p Call Ratio: 1:3 Reason for Coverage: Supplemental Coverage Travel, Lodging, and Malpractice Insurance: Malpractice Insurance Covered; Lodging Provided if Needed; Mileage Reimbursed PATIENT INFORMATION Patient Demographics: Primarily Adult, Geriatric frequent Average Daily Volume: 8 cases per day Case Mix: Vascular, Orthopedic, Gynecology, Urology FACILITY INFORMATION Trauma Level: Level I PRIVILEGES & COMPLIANCE Hospital Privileges Required: Yes Credentialing Timeline: 90 days (fast-track available) REQUIRED PROCEDURES Angioplasty Stent placement Embolization Needle biopsy Thrombolysis UFE (Uterine Fibroid Embolization) Ortho, Gyn, Urology cases JOB REQUIREMENTS Board: BC in Interventional Radiology Licenses: Active Michigan Medical License Certifications: BLS, ACLS Other Qualifications: Local provider preferred; travel providers considered if able to cover 2+ weeks per month; clean malpractice and license history; NPDB self-query required Duties & Responsibilities Perform interventional radiology procedures including angioplasty, stent placement, embolization, needle biopsy, thrombolysis, and uterine fibroid embolization. Provide hospital-based IR services during day shifts (7a-5p, Mon-Fri) and participate in Q3 call rotation covering weekdays and weekends. Collaborate with a team of 3 physicians and 2 APPs, providing consultation and follow-up care. Manage cases involving vascular, orthopedic, gynecologic, and urologic conditions. Maintain accurate documentation and participate in quality improvement activities.
