The Site EHS & HR Generalist serves as the on-site safety resource while also providing day-to-day human resources support for employees and leaders. This position partners closely with site management, employees, supervisors, technicians, customers, and corporate functional teams to promote a safe, compliant, and productive workplace. The role is responsible for driving safety initiatives, risk management, regulatory compliance, employee engagement, recruiting support, employee relations, training coordination, and HR administration. Success in this role is measured by the ability to strengthen safety culture, ensure regulatory compliance, support employees and leaders, and contribute to overall operational effectiveness.

 

Responsibilities

  • →Conduct routine safety observations, workplace inspections, audits, and risk assessments.
  • →Support pre-job planning, Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs), and risk mitigation efforts.
  • →Identify workplace hazards and recommend corrective actions to reduce risk.
  • →Investigate incidents, injuries, near misses, and property damage events.
  • →Facilitate root cause investigations and track corrective actions through completion.
  • →Maintain compliance with OSHA regulations, customer requirements, and company safety standards.
  • →Maintain required safety records, documentation, and reporting metrics.
  • →Deliver and coordinate safety training programs.
  • →Promote employee engagement, stop-work authority, and a proactive safety culture.
  • →Serve as the primary safety liaison with customer representatives and support customer audits.
  • →Supports human resources programs by providing human resources services including interviewing, onboarding, and facilitating training as needed.
  • →Assist with administration of compensation, benefits, and HR programs.
  • →Provide guidance to employees and leaders regarding company policies, procedures, and employment practices.
  • →Support employee relations efforts by addressing routine employee concerns and escalating complex matters when appropriate.
  • →Maintain personnel records and complete HR transactions in accordance with company policies.
  • →Assist in maintaining HRIS data and employee records.
  • →Support training and development initiatives for employees and supervisors.
  • →Track turnover, staffing trends, and workforce metrics and provide reporting to management.
  • →Support affirmative action, equal employment opportunity, and labor law compliance activities.
  • →Build collaborative relationships with employees, supervisors, and customer contacts.
  • →Coach leaders on employee engagement, performance management, and workplace concerns.
  • →Support organizational initiatives that improve employee experience, retention, and culture.
  • →Partner with operations leadership to align people practices with business objectives.
  • →Participate in site meetings and provide guidance on both safety and workforce-related matters while reporting out to both internal team as well as customer.

 

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Safety, Environmental Health & Safety, or related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 3 years of experience in Human Resources, Safety, EHS, or a combination of both disciplines.
  • Working knowledge of OSHA regulations and employment laws.
  • Experience supporting employees and leaders in a manufacturing, industrial, logistics, or service environment preferred.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to influence and build relationships without direct authority.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and HRIS systems.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to travel occasionally as needed.

 

  • Safety certification (OSHA 30, ASP, CSP, CHST, or equivalent).
  • Professional HR certification (PHR, SHRM-CP, or equivalent).
  • Experience in maintenance, manufacturing, or industrial services environments.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands/fingers to handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb, ascend/descend or balance to heights that may require a ladder or lift; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl in confined spaces; and talk or hear.  The employee is occasionally required to sit.  The employee must occasionally lift and/or move more than 50 pounds.  The employee is regularly required to use close vision and color vision.  The employee is occasionally exposed to outside weather conditions and risk of electrical shock.  Work is typically performed in a factory environment and is usually very loud. In the factory environment, the employee may be exposed to hazardous materials and/or greasy or slippery factory floors.
