• →Research, pitch, shoot, script, edit, and publish compelling news and feature videos.
• →Embrace versatility in video styles — text-on-screen explainers, interviews, or live coverage — with a focus on growing our 18–30 year old audience.
• →Cover newsworthy N.J. events and turn around a short-form video the same day.
• →Contribute to the newsroom's broader video needs, including projects and shooting breaking news or live video.
• →Plan and execute live streams to Facebook.
• →Post video according to best practices across brand social platforms, including Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, and Facebook.

• A bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience
• Minimum of 2 years of experience creating and publishing video content on TikTok and/or Instagram; experience doesn't need to come from a traditional newsroom, but candidates should demonstrate strong news judgment.
• Experience growing a social media audience — starting conversations, earning trust, and building engagement over time.
• Solid understanding of editing tools such as CapCut, Instagram Edits, or Adobe Premiere, and collaborative tools like Google Drive.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to write clean, concise scripts and execute videos in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong audio recording abilities, a plus.
• Fluency in a second language, a plus.
