We are seeking an APP who will model and lead excellence in clinical practice, provider to provider relationships, and professionalism while advancing AdventHealth’ s Mission, Vision, and Values.

Collectively, the AdventHealth Medical Group Hospitalists cover 5 hospitals in Denver Metro area. The AdventHealth Medical Group is a coalition of over 2,000 physicians, advanced practice providers, residents, fellows and faculty members. The AdventHealth Medical Group network offers a continuum of care across nine U.S. states. From primary care doctors to pediatricians and surgical specialists, we have physicians to support patient’s whole health at every age and every stage of life. This aligned model and practice management experience provides the opportunity for the physicians to focus on the clinical aspects of medicine.

Responsibilities

  • Responds and participates in Code Blue and Rapid Responses
  • Provides admission services for the Emergency Department, incoming transfer patients, and direct or emergent admissions in accordance with the hospital on call schedule and patient assignment guidelines
  • Provides cross-coverage, consultative, and co-management services for subspecialty services when such services are within the scope and designation of privileges
  • Accepts transfers of care from other clinical service lines if the patient is deemed appropriate for the hospital medicine service
  • Provide transfer center call for incoming patients in accordance with the hospital on call schedule
  • Provides timely evaluation of inpatient and observation-based hospitalized patients
  • Provides internal sign out consistent with standards of care
  • Participates in nursing and staff education when solicited by the Lead Hospitalist, CNO, CMO, or COO/CEO
  • Participates in committees and meetings as assigned
  • Responds to all clinical, documentation, and billing queries in a timely fashion
  • Maintains current understanding of the regulatory environment related to patient status consistent with national guidelines
  • Encourages in-network utilization of resources for continuity of care unless specified by the patient or expertise is not available in the system
  • Responds in a timely manner to communication from hospital staff
  • Schedule entails working 173, 12-hour shifts/year or 14-15 per month
  • Current shift hours are from 2p-2am

Nice to Have

  • Should possess excellent clinical skills, communication skills, and a strong commitment to providing excellent care that is team and patient-centered
  • Inpatient APP experience preferred
  • Comfort in admitting higher volumes and complex cross-coverage preferred
  • Graduate of MSN or DNP Nurse Practitioner Program
  • Graduate of Physician Assistant, PA-C Program
  • Full Federal and State Prescriptive Authority
  • Eligibility to work in the United States
  • Current ACLS Certification
  • Possess or have the ability to procure and maintain a Colorado Medical License
  • Current DEA Licensure
