• →Performs clinical examinations as necessary for outpatient visits. This includes seeing new patients, consults, and established patients with gastroenterology concerns. 
• →Orders and interprets test results. 
• →Functions as a resource for individuals with questions regarding their diagnosis or treatment and coordinates the multidisciplinary plan of care. 
• →Provides education to patients/families (individuals/groups) about current and potential health problems, the treatment plan, self-care, and prevention to achieve independence and maximum wellness. 
• →Writes orders and prescriptions.
• →Makes referrals to specialists as indicated by patient situation.
• →Works in collaboration with other APPs and physicians using established and approved protocols as required by institutional policy.
• →Maintains thorough and confidential maintenance of patient charts and records. Documents ongoing status, interventions, communications, patient response and outcomes in accurate, timely manner.
• →Adapts to rapidly changing technologies, policies, regulations, workload and staffing through priority setting, use of sound critical thinking, and flexibility.
• →Active Nurse Practitioner License or Physician Assistant License 
• →Full Prescriptive Authority 

• Master’s Degree 
• 2+ years of GI experience is preferred, but will consider new graduate with recent completion of GI fellowship 

• Certification by N.C.C.P.A. 
• Active physician assistant license by the state of Colorado 
• BLS
