Schedule: Full-Time/Days
The Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for promoting and restoring patient health through the nursing process, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of care. This position collaborates with physicians and interdisciplinary team members to provide comprehensive, patient-centered care. The RN provides physical, emotional, and educational support to patients and families and may supervise assigned healthcare personnel to ensure the delivery of safe, high-quality care. Care is provided in accordance with facility policies, professional nursing standards, regulatory requirements, and applicable state nurse practice acts.
- Conducts comprehensive patient assessments, including evaluation of physiological, psychological, developmental, sociocultural, spiritual, and lifestyle factors that may impact health and recovery.
- Develops, implements, and evaluates individualized nursing care plans based on patient needs, clinical findings, and established standards of care.
- Administers medications, treatments, and therapeutic interventions safely and accurately in accordance with provider orders, organizational policies, and regulatory requirements.
- Monitors patient responses to treatments and medications, identifies changes in condition, and communicates findings to the appropriate healthcare providers.
- Educates patients and families regarding diagnoses, treatment plans, medications, discharge instructions, and self-care strategies to support informed decision-making and health maintenance.
- Collaborates with physicians, advanced practice providers, therapists, case managers, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate and optimize patient care.
- Documents patient assessments, interventions, outcomes, and communications accurately, thoroughly, and within established documentation standards.
- Evaluates the effectiveness of nursing interventions and modifies care plans as necessary to achieve desired patient outcomes.
- Maintains compliance with infection prevention practices, safety standards, and regulatory requirements to support a safe environment for patients, visitors, and team members.
- Provides therapeutic communication and emotional support to patients and families, addressing psychosocial and emotional needs throughout the care continuum.
- Delegates and supervises nursing care activities in accordance with licensure, competency, organizational policy, and applicable regulations.
- Participates in professional development, continuing education, quality improvement initiatives, and performance improvement activities.
- Responds appropriately to emergency and code situations, providing clinical interventions within scope of practice and level of competency.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Demonstrated knowledge of nursing principles, clinical practices, patient assessment, and care planning.
- Ability to assess, prioritize, and manage multiple patient needs in a dynamic healthcare environment.
- Strong critical thinking, clinical judgment, and problem-solving skills.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with patients, families, physicians, and interdisciplinary team members.
- Knowledge of electronic medical record systems and standard healthcare technology.
- Commitment to patient safety, quality outcomes, and customer service excellence.
- Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing required.
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
- Clinical nursing experience preferred.
- Specific experience requirements may vary by department or specialty.
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the applicable state required.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
- Additional certifications may be required based on department, specialty area, or state regulations.
