Alfred H Knight has an exciting opportunity for General Workers to join the team in Walvis Bay, Namibia. This position is required to support operational activities across the business. The increasing demand for general labour support in day-to-day operations has highlighted the need for dedicated personnel to perform non-technical tasks, allowing skilled employees to focus on their core responsibilities.

DO YOU HAVE WHAT IT TAKES?

To be successful at Alfred H Knight the incumbent will need to display the following:

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE AND WORK EXPERIENCE

Essential

• Assisting with the handling, movement, loading, and unloading of commodities, samples, equipment, and materials at company premises, warehouses, mines, and client sites
• Supporting sampling, sample preparation, weighing, sorting, packing, and storage activities as instructed by Supervisors and Inspectors
• Maintaining a clean, safe, and organized working environment in accordance with company policies and health and safety requirements
• Ensuring that all assigned tasks are carried out accurately, efficiently, and in accordance with established procedures and work instructions
• Assisting with the preparation of equipment, containers, and work areas before and after operational activities
• Reporting any equipment defects, safety concerns, operational issues, or deviations from procedures to the Supervisor
• Following all company policies, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and client requirements at all times
• Providing general operational support to the Sample Preparation Department and other departments as required
• Working cooperatively with team members to ensure operational targets and service delivery requirements are achieved
• Performing any other reasonable duties assigned by management within the scope of the position

Required Work Experience

• 1 years’ minimum experience in the commodity surveying, specific to metals and minerals

Required Qualifications

• Grade 12
• Drivers License

Required Languages

• Proficiency in English (verbal and written)
