Laboratory Chemist

WHAT IS ON OFFER

Alfred H Knight has an exciting opportunity for a Laboratory Chemist to join our team in Zambia. In this role, you will be responsible for conducting analytical test works, supervise and carry out administrative activities in the General analysis laboratory as delegated by the HOD to ensure cost effective operations and quality service to all clients. 

You will drive daily production, delegate job assignments, and supervise analyst workflows to consistently meet turnaround times. You will uphold our commitment to safety and compliance by enforcing HSEQ regulations, conducting daily inspections of lab safety equipment, and leading shift meetings. You will focus directly on maintaining sample and data integrity by scrutinizing and authenticating test results, managing complete sample tracking, running QA/QC trend analyses, and investigating any reporting anomalies. Additionally, you will oversee instrument calibration and daily maintenance, monitor reagent inventory, build strong relationships with internal and external clients, and research innovative analytical methods to continuously improve quality and cost-efficiency.

Required Work Experience

• A minimum of 2 years’ experience in a testing laboratory

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science Degree in Chemistry or related Chemical Science.
• Must be a member of the Chemical Society of Zambia
• First Aid Certificate and/or Training in ISO17025 will be an added advantage.
