As a Senior Telecommunications Engineer (Cabling/Links) based in Brisbane, Melbourne Canberra or Sydney, you will play a key role in the design, sustainment and modernisation of Airservices Australia's telecommunications infrastructure, supporting critical operational services relied upon by Air Traffic Control and Aviation Rescue Fire Fighting Services nationwide

Airservices Australia is a government-owned organisation responsible for the safe and efficient management of 11% of the world's airspace and provision of aviation rescue & fire fighting services at Australia's busiest airports.

Our people are our greatest asset with a dynamic and diverse team operating from locations across the country - from bustling cities to regional and remote locations, including an island. This team is helping to secure the future of Australia's skies and keep it amongst the safest in the world.

We connect people with their world safely - linking family and friends, generating economic activity, creating jobs, and facilitating trade and tourism. The technology networks and communications systems we maintain underpin critical aviation operations across the nation.

Airservices is committed to fostering a culture that is diverse, inclusive, and respectful. We encourage motivated individuals who love what they do, value a service-first mindset and embrace a challenge to explore a career with Airservices. In return you will be a valued team member, be offered flexibility and experience a meaningful career in an exciting, ever-evolving aviation industry.

Working within the Network & Telecommunications Platform (NTP) team, you will provide specialist engineering expertise across Airservices' structured fibre and cabling infrastructure, microwave communications links and associated telecommunications systems.

You will apply engineering and systems lifecycle principles to design, implement, support and optimise telecommunications infrastructure that forms part of Australia's National Airways System. This includes contributing to a major network modernisation program that is transitioning legacy technologies to a modern IP-based network supporting Air Traffic Control, Aviation Rescue Fire Fighting Services and corporate operations.

You will lead complex technical investigations, provide specialist advice to projects and operational teams, support system integrity and technical governance activities, manage technology changes and contribute to the planning and delivery of critical telecommunications initiatives across the organisation.

This role offers the opportunity to work on nationally significant infrastructure while influencing the future direction of communications technologies that support aviation safety outcomes across Australia.
