Electricians

Akicita Federal is hiring Electricians to maintain and repair critical electrical infrastructure supporting veterans' care at the Dallas VA Medical Center in Dallas, TX. These roles are essential to keeping hospital operations safe and uninterrupted — from emergency power systems to life-saving medical equipment. - Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair a wide range of electrical systems throughout a large medical facility, including motors, HVAC components, lighting, and alarm systems

- Install, modify, and inspect electrical circuits, conduit runs, and associated wiring in accordance with the National Electrical Code

- Operate and work safely with high-voltage systems up to 4,160 volts AC, including switchgear, transformers, and emergency power infrastructure

- Use diagnostic instruments to identify and resolve electrical faults efficiently and accurately

- Perform scheduled preventive maintenance on motors, control equipment, and major utility systems to minimize downtime

- Work in varied environments including confined spaces, elevated areas, and outdoor locations while adhering to all safety protocols

- Coordinate work with minimal supervision and provide guidance or oversight to helpers as needed

What sets candidates apart:

- Prior experience performing electrical work in a hospital, medical facility, or other large institutional or industrial setting

- Familiarity with emergency power systems, generators, and redundant electrical infrastructure critical to healthcare operations

- Experience reading and interpreting electrical blueprints, schematics, and as-built drawings

- Previous work supporting federal or VA facilities

- Experience mentoring or supervising helpers or apprentice-level electricians on job sites
