In this role, you’ll draw on deep technical and product expertise, sharp commercial judgment, and the ability to independently manage complex, high-value quotation opportunities.

  • Review and interpret customer requests, plans, specifications, single-line diagrams, bills of material, and other bid documentation to determine project scope and quotation requirements.
  • Independently manage standard through complex quotation opportunities, determining appropriate products, manufacturers, and quotation strategy.
  • Prepare and issue Requests for Quotation (RFQs) and coordinate pricing, technical requirements, and project information with manufacturers and suppliers.
  • Evaluate supplier quotations for pricing, technical compliance, scope, lead times, exclusions, commercial considerations, and risk.
  • Prepare accurate, professional customer proposals, including pricing, scope, clarifications, exclusions, lead times, and supporting documentation.
  • Collaborate with Sales and Power team members on pricing, margin, manufacturer strategy, competitive positioning, and customer requirements.
  • Identify and recommend product alternates, substitutions, or value-engineered solutions when appropriate.
  • Provide advanced product, application, pricing, and quotation support to Sales, customers, and other team members.
  • Maintain accurate quotation records and support effective handoff of awarded projects.
  • Serve as a senior resource to the Power team, helping develop less-experienced team members and improve quotation processes.
  • Solid understanding of the fundamentals of electricity and electrical power distribution, switchgear, and automation products.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple, competing priorities and tight deadlines.
  • Strong mathematical ability and sound financial and commercial judgment.
  • Comfort using digital tools and technology to manage quotes and customer data.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills across phone, email, and in-person interactions.
  • Strong customer service orientation and relationship-building skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to interpret plans, specifications, single-line diagrams, bills of material, and technical documentation.
  • Strong technical, analytical, and problem-solving judgment with excellent attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within a team environment.
  • Commitment to high ethical standards governing professional behavior and interactions.
  • High school diploma or GED required; associate or bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Three (3) to five (5) or more years of experience in quotations, estimating, electrical distribution, switchgear, automation, electrical construction, or a related field preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience independently managing power or electrical quotation opportunities.
  • Intermediate or better knowledge of personal computers and peripherals, word processing and spreadsheet software, e-mail, and the Internet.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Suite, including Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Teams, Outlook, OneNote, and Planner.
