Election Worker - 2026

Albany County is currently recruiting seasonal Election Workers.  The contract period is July 2026 to November 2026. We are looking for both full-time and part-time positions. Pay is $17.00 per hour

JOB SUMMARY:

Under direct supervision, an employee in this position will be tasked with multiple responsibilities. Primary responsibility is assisting with Elections, including but not limited to greeting customers in a professional and courteous manner, answering telephones and preparing correspondence, handling mail, processing absentee voter requests, data entry, registering and assisting voters, filing and preparing election materials and equipment, performing related duties as assigned.

• Computer proficient, especially with data entry
• Exceptional communication skills, both oral and written
• Ability to focus on a single task for an extended period
• Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions
• Ability to work in a team setting
• Flexibility to work varying hours and overtime as required

REQUIREMENTS:

• Education: HS diploma or GED equivalent
• US citizen, 18 years of age or older
• Registered to vote in Albany County or able to be registered to vote
• Valid driver’s license
• Not a candidate or relative of any candidate for office to be voted in the 2026 election
• This position requires the successful completion of a pre-employment background check.
• Occasionally lifts or carries up to 20 pounds.
