The role of the Assistant Electrical Technician is centred on assisting the electrical technicians in various tasks, such as equipment maintenance, troubleshooting, repair work, data collection, or installation of electrical systems, with a primary focus on fire safety and security applications.

Proficiency in updating drawings, laying and termination of cables and equipment, interpreting drawings and skilful use of hand and power tools are essential for this position. Whether working independently or collaboratively within a team, your responsibilities span across residential, commercial, and industrial environments. You will be engaged in various tasks, including new installations, upgrades, as well as troubleshooting and repairs to guarantee the reliability and effectiveness of electrical systems.


Main Responsibilities:

 


Execution of the job:


    • Assist in general site preparation and upkeeping including site cleanliness.

    • Install, maintain, and repair electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures in accordance with relevant codes and standards.

    • Strive for optimal efficiency in all tasks, utilizing time-management skills to meet project deadlines.

    • Strictly adhere to Alberta’s policies and procedures.

 


Quality Assurance and Compliance


    • Ensure that work is performed in compliance with relevant codes and standards.

    • Maintain accurate records of work, including installation diagrams and service reports.

    • Safe keeping and delivery of documentation in a timely manner.

    • Identify potential hazards, report, and take necessary precautions to mitigate risks.

    • Ensure that the tools and equipment are used according to the safety requirements.




Sustaining of Brand Image and Presentation


      • Uphold the company's professional image through punctuality, professionalism, and a commitment to delivering high-quality work.

      • Ensure that any tool, equipment, vehicle or uniform, baring Alberta logo, is always in a good working and presentable condition.

    • Successfully install systems to the utmost satisfaction of clients, emphasizing on the commitment to quality.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE


  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in an electrical installation role or a closely related field

  • Ability to assess the site conditions and verify the equipment functionality.
