About the Role 

Albireo Energy is looking for a Field Automation Engineer III to serve as the technical authority on BAS and EPMS systems for large-scale mission-critical data center construction projects. You'll design system architecture, develop advanced PLC and BAS programming, and lead integrated systems testing — while mentoring the next generation of automation engineers.

What You'll Do 

  • Design BAS and EPMS system architecture and define programming standards for the project. 
  • Develop advanced PLC and BAS programming for complex mechanical and electrical systems including redundant cooling and power infrastructure. 
  • Plan and lead integrated systems testing (IST) with commissioning agents and owner representatives. 
  • Serve as the primary technical escalation point for engineering and field teams. 
  • Review and approve programming deliverables, point-to-point documentation, and commissioning records. 
  • Coordinate with commissioning agents, project managers, and owner representatives. 
  • Mentor and develop Field Automation Engineer I and II personnel.

• Ignition SCADA

• BACnet IP/MSTP

• Modbus TCP/IP

• OPC UA

• CRAH / CRAC Systems

• UPS / EPMS

  • 5+ years of BAS, EPMS, or automation engineering experience, with at least 2 years on mission-critical data center projects. 
  • Advanced proficiency in BAS programming across multiple platforms (Tridium Niagara, Honeywell, Siemens, or equivalent). 
  • Expert-level Rockwell ControlLogix / CompactLogix PLC programming. 
  • Deep understanding of redundant data center infrastructure: UPS, STS, CRAH, chillers, and EPMS. 
  • Strong knowledge of BACnet, Modbus, Ethernet/IP, SNMP, and OPC protocols. 
  • Demonstrated technical leadership and mentoring capability. 
  • OSHA-30 required. 

Pay Rate: $74k-$115k DOE
