Performs a variety of electrical trade functions, such as installing, maintaining, or repairing equipment for the generation, distribution, or utilization of electric energy. Requires rounded training and experience, usually acquired through a formal apprenticeship or equivalent training experience.
- Performs tasks in accordance with work schedules and material requirements to ensure contract requirements are properly met
- Complies with safety, security, property and material management, as well as time and attendance policies
- Performs work in the most effective and efficient manner
- Accomplishes work in accordance with authorized Work Orders and contract requirements for response and performance
- Completes Work Order feedback in accordance with established procedures
- Maintains, enhances, repairs, and installs electrical system components including, but not limited to:
- Wiring systems
- Conduit systems
- Cable systems
- Conductors
- Switches, receptacles, outlets, and device plates
- Motor control centers
- Control switchboards and consoles
- Lightning protection systems
- Fixtures
- Electrical kitchen equipment
- Kitchen and building ventilating fans
- Sump pumps
- Garbage disposal units
- Electrical heaters in all applicable buildings, structures, and facilities.
- Grounds service equipment
- Provides temporary electrical service in emergencies by providing emergency lighting systems
- Creates estimates
- Tests circuits and loads
- Provides standby electrical services for special events
- Measures, cuts, bends, threads, assembles, and installs electrical conduit
- Pulls wiring through conduit
- Splices wires by stripping insulation from terminal leads, twisting or soldering wires together, and applying tape or terminal caps
- Connects wiring to lighting fixtures and power equipment
- Installs control and distribution apparatuses such as switches, relays, and circuit-breaker panels
- Connects power cables to equipment such as electric range or motor
- Installs grounding leads.
- Tests continuity of circuits to ensure electrical compatibility and safety of components with testing instruments such as ohmmeter, battery and buzzer, multimeter, voltmeter and oscilloscope
- Ensures functionality of installed equipment or systems to detect hazards and need for adjustments, relocation, or replacement
- Repairs faulty equipment or systems
- Assists Generator Technician in the performance of electrical tasks
- Assists in the procurement of parts and materials for job completion
- Performs other electrical duties within the scope of the position as assigned to support facility operations.
- High School Diploma or GED
- Journey/Tradesman State License required
- Must have one-year certificate from college or technical school; or minimum five years journeyman level electrician experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Experience with power generation equipment above 250 KW is preferred.
- Basic computer skills.
- Knowledge of confined space entry and lock out tag out procedures.
- Must have the ability to deal with problems involving several variables in adverse situations
- Ability to safely utilize, operate, and maintain hand and power tools common to the electrical trade
- Ability to interpret and apply NEC, local codes, blueprints, wiring diagrams and engineering drawings
- Knowledge of operation and installation of a variety of complete electrical systems equipment
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Attention to detail and a commitment to quality.
- Must be able to stand, walk, sit for prolonged periods
- Must be able to bend, stoop, climb, reach, stretch, kneel, and squat.
- Must be able to perform repetitive tasks or motions for prolonged periods.
- Must have sufficient physical strength, balance, hand-eye coordination, and stamina to complete various tasks.
- Must have the ability to maintain assigned work hours.
- Must have sufficient endurance to perform tasks over long periods of time.
- This role requires work in non-office settings such as machinery rooms, electrical distribution centers, server rooms, and industrial locations.
- Work requires exposure to heat/cold, noise, dust, mist, and/or fumes.
- Required the ability to climb ladders and work at heights.
- Requires wearing personal protective equipment such, safety glasses, fall protection harness, protective-toe footwear, gloves, hard hat, and hearing protection.
- Work hazards include electrical shock, confined spaces, and noise hazards.
Requirements

- Must be able to obtain a favorable National Agency Check (NAC) per contract.
- Must complete all mandated training requirements per government and management directives.
- Must be proficient with the English Language per contract.
