At Allegion, we create innovative security solutions that protect people and property around the world. We are looking for an experienced and passionate Mechanical Engineer to join our engineering team and play a key role in the development of next-generation locking systems.
This is an exciting opportunity for an engineer who enjoys solving complex technical challenges, driving innovation, and working across multiple disciplines to deliver secure, reliable, and high-performing products. You will be involved throughout the entire product lifecycle, from concept development to production and continuous improvement, helping shape the future of mechanical and electronic security solutions.
Responsibilities
~1 min readAs a Senior Mechanical Engineer, you will lead the development of innovative locking solutions, combining mechanical design expertise with a strong focus on security, performance, and manufacturability.
- →Design and develop mechanical and electromechanical locking systems, from concept through production and lifecycle support.
- →Create 3D CAD models and technical drawings using Creo.
- →Ensure products meet performance, durability, reliability, and security requirements.
- →Apply DFM/DFA principles to improve manufacturability, quality, and cost efficiency.
- →Define tolerances, interfaces, and assembly methods for complex mechanical systems.
- →Support product validation, certification, risk assessment, and compliance activities.
- →Collaborate with Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, Product Management, and Supply Chain teams to drive product improvements and solve technical challenges.
- →Evaluate and integrate emerging technologies, materials, and smart locking solutions.
- →Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives that enhance product performance, user experience, and operational efficiency.

Requirements
~1 min read- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
- 3 to 10 years of experience in the design and development of mechanical locking systems or comparable mechanical products.
- Proven experience managing projects throughout the full product lifecycle, from concept to production and field support.
- Strong proficiency with 3D CAD software (Creo preferred).
- Solid understanding of manufacturing processes, materials, and assembly techniques.
- Strong knowledge of GD&T and technical drawing preparation.
- Fluent English and the ability to work effectively within international teams.
- Master's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
- Experience with electronic or smart locking technologies.
- Familiarity with security testing, validation, and certification processes.
- Experience working within highly regulated product environments.
- Knowledge of sustainability initiatives and environmental compliance requirements.
- Mechanical product design and development.

- CAD modeling and technical documentation.
- DFM, DFA, tolerance analysis, and GD&T.
- Product validation and failure analysis.
