The DRE (Design Release Engineer) - BIW Underbody is responsible for the design, development, validation, and release of underbody Body-in-White (BIW) components and assemblies.
This role requires strong communication and collaboration skills, as a significant portion of the job involves coordinating activities across design, manufacturing, simulation, and supplier teams.

Responsibilities

→Lead the development and release of BIW underbody stampings and assemblies.
→Coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure design, performance, quality, and manufacturing requirements are met.
→Effectively communicate technical issues, listen to stakeholder concerns, and drive resolution of engineering challenges.
→Review and understand forming simulation reports to assess manufacturability and support design decisions.
→Utilize basic CAD knowledge to facilitate discussions with designers and review engineering solutions.
→Apply GD&T principles to ensure dimensional integrity and compliance with functional requirements.
→Support design reviews, change management activities, and product development milestones.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Strong ability to collaborate, listen, and clearly communicate technical concerns.
Knowledge of BIW underbody stampings and assembly development.
Understanding of sheet metal forming and forming simulation reports.
Basic CAD proficiency – NX
Teamcenter
Strong GD&T knowledge and application.
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, cross-functional automotive environment.
