About the Role
~1 min readAmerican Stone is hiring a full-time Diesel Mechanic to maintain and repair quarry equipment and fleet vehicles.
This position is based in the Burley/Oakley, Idaho area and supports our Mountain Yard quarry operations.
Strong English is not required. Spanish-speaking applicants are welcome.
You will be responsible for inspections, preventative maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs on heavy equipment and diesel systems while maintaining a safe and clean work environment. This role is ideal for someone dependable, self-motivated, and comfortable working independently in a hands-on quarry environment.
Responsibilities
~1 min read- →Perform inspections and preventative maintenance on equipment
- →Diagnose and repair diesel engines and heavy equipment
- →Work on hydraulic systems, brakes, suspension, and transmissions
- →Maintain a clean and safe work environment
- →Ensure equipment is operating safely and efficiently
- →Assist with troubleshooting mechanical issues in the field when needed
Requirements
~1 min read- Experience working with diesel engines or heavy equipment
- Ability to perform physical work and lift heavy objects
- Ability to pass dr*g screening
Nice to Have
~1 min read- Experience with heavy equipment (loaders, excavators, trucks)
- Welding or fabrication experience
- Technical certification in diesel mechanics
- English proficiency is not required
You will work daylight hours as you are capable, minimum 40 hours per week. You might work Saturdays. You have Sundays off.
