  • BA/BS preferred.
  • 3+ years of work experience with litigation docketing or calendaring in a law firm or legal services environment.
  • Familiarity with federal and state court rules, in particular California, Massachusetts, New York and New Jersey (multi-jurisdiction experience is a plus).
  • Experience with litigation docketing software (CourtAlert or similar systems preferred).
  • Familiarity with federal CM/ECF filing systems and Massachusetts state eFiling.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to interpret court notices and deadlines accurately.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills with the ability to manage time-sensitive tasks.
  • A high degree of proficiency with technology, including Microsoft Office, PDF tools (e.g., Kofax Power PDF Advanced), document management systems (e.g., iManage/FileSite), and database management/administration systems.

Responsibilities

  • Review, interpret, and docket deadlines from incoming court notices and filings in CourtAlert.
  • Calculate and calendar litigation deadlines based on applicable procedural.
  • Maintain accurate case calendars and respond to case team requests for deadline calendaring.
  • Monitor court activity and update docket entries and deadlines as needed.
  • Work with the firm’s West Coast docketing specialist to develop and standardize workflows, and docketing practices across offices.
  • Support centralization of certain electronic filing functions.
  • Manage setup and maintenance of federal CM/ECF attorney accounts, including multifactor authentication.
  • Ensure that docket entries and deadlines comply with applicable procedural rules and firm practices.
  • Excellent grammar, spelling and proofing for content and context.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, communication skills, and practical judgment.
  • Ability to independently manage multiple tasks and deadlines, delegating workload when necessary to ensure timely completion.
  • Excellent organizational skills and the ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities under pressure.
  • Detail-oriented and self-motivated.
  • Ability to collaborate with team members throughout the firm.
  • Flexibility, including the ability to travel to other offices from time-to-time.
  • Meet physical demands of the position explained below.
  • Adaptable to last-minute changes and disruptions, and able to accommodate overtime work as required.
