Position Summary:

Pre-op duties include preparing a patient both physically and mentally before an endoscopy, sigmoidoscopy or colonoscopy procedure, including taking medical history, verifying consent, administering pre-medication, point of care testing, providing instructions on bowel preparation if necessary, IV placement and monitoring the patient's vital signs prior to the procedure. The ideal candidate will also provide high-quality care to patients recovering from anesthesia, ensuring their safety and comfort during the critical recovery period. Performs other miscellaneous duties as assigned.

Responsibilities

→Graduate of an accredited or state board of nursing approved Registered/Professional Nursing program if less than a year of experience.
→Preferred: Bachelor’s degree in nursing.
→MD State licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN) Required.
→Required BLS/ACLS
→Good IV skills needed.
→Ambulatory surgery center: 1 year (Preferred)
→Demonstrates basic computer skills (for an EMR).
