We are seeking an experienced Associate Director, Contracts to refine and scale our contracting operations and review as we prepare for a potential drug launch. This role will own the full contract lifecycle process—from intake and template selection through, execution and post‑execution management, including negotiating certain agreements independently. This is a highly visible, customer‑service‑oriented role that will serve as the internal subject‑matter expert and trainer for Amylyx’s contract lifecycle management system (CLMS). The ideal candidate will have a strong background in contract management and negotiation within the life sciences, biotech, or pharmaceutical industry and thrive in a fast‑moving, evolving environment.
Responsibilities

- Optimize and implement contracting processes and best practices, ensuring efficient workflows, compliance, and continuity across teams.
- Manage end-to-end contract lifecycle for a broad set of contracts, e.g. services, confidentiality, research collaborations, and other commercial or operational contracts.
- Maintain the contract management system and repository, including metadata accuracy, key date tracking, renewal management, obligation monitoring, tags, parties and reporting.
- Partner closely with internal stakeholders (Legal, Compliance, Finance, Procurement, Clinical, Commercial, and other business partners) to ensure contract terms align with business and compliance needs.
- Develop, update, and maintain contract templates and playbooks in partnership with Legal advisors.
- Develop and maintain CLMS training materials and provide new hire and refresher training sessions as well as ad hoc support.
- Establish and track contracting KPIs, dashboards, and metrics to provide visibility into system performance and contracting volume.
- Partner with the IT Administrator to drive continuous contracting process improvements, including identifying opportunities to streamline workflows through automation and the use of Artificial Intelligence tools.
Contract Review & Negotiation
- Prepare and negotiate agreements independently or escalate non-standard terms to manager with potential positions.
- Develop and maintain contract templates and playbooks.
Requirements

- 8+years of experience in contract management and with CLM system(s); experience independently negotiating contracts.
- Strong ability to prioritize, independently manage workload, and meet deadlines in a dynamic environment.
- Exceptional written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills with a focus on customer service and excellent attention to detail.
- Proven ability to work with cross-functional teams and build strong internal relationships.
- Aligned with a patient‑focused mission and able to uphold the highest standards of integrity.
Requirements
~1 min read- Experience with LinkSquares contract lifecycle management system.
- Demonstrated experience applying AI tools to contract review or process optimization.
- Industry experience in biotech, pharma, or life sciences.
- At Amylyx, we proudly support remote work opportunities within the United States. However, due to business considerations candidates must be able to attend meetings at our office in Cambridge, MA on a regular basis. Preference will be given to candidates who reside in the New England region and can be in person on an as needed basis.
