CC013125 Behavioral Health

The Behavioral Health Clinician I will be an integrated member of the medical team to assist in managing the overall health of the child or adolescent. The clinician will recognize, address, and monitor lifestyle or behavioral factors related to illness, injury, mental health, and/or substance use. BHCs will demonstrate competency in psychosocial assessment and treatment approaches using evidence-based and trauma-informed interventions. BHC I works under the clinical supervision of a terminally licensed clinician i.e. LPC/LCSW.

Master's degree in a related field of study.

Master's Degree

1 of the following license or registry is required - -  

Licensed Associate Counselor (LAC) - Arkansas Board of Examiners in Counseling, Licensed Master Social Worker (PLMSW or LMSW) - Arkansas Professional Board

1. Complete psychosocial assessments with corresponding therapeutic interventions to address emotional/behavioral symptoms of patients in a ambulatory setting. As a LAC/LMSW, consults with LPC/LCSW on cases with a safety component.

2. Perform chart reviews and document treatment progress in medical records in a professional manner.

3. Maintain schedule of therapeutic follow-up with those patients and families for whom continued support is recommended until either treatment goals are met or care can be transitioned to a community behavioral health provider (if appropriate).

4. Demonstrate competency on behavioral health symptomology, treatment options and efficacy, and impact of trauma and mental health on overall well-being.

5. Exhibit strong understanding of child maltreatment reporting laws and processes.

6. Manage time and job responsibilities in an efficient and organized way.

7. Complete care management and care coordination as needed.

8. Performs other duties as assigned.
