St. Simon the Apostle Catholic School is seeking a dedicated, compassionate, and highly qualified Resource/Special Education Teacher to join our faith-filled learning community. The Resource Teacher works collaboratively with classroom teachers, parents, and administration to support students with diverse learning needs while promoting academic growth, independence, and confidence.
The ideal candidate will be committed to the mission of Catholic education and passionate about helping all students achieve success in a supportive and inclusive environment.
Essential Responsibilities
Provide direct instruction and intervention services to students with identified learning needs.
Develop, implement, and monitor individualized accommodation and support plans.
Collaborate with classroom teachers to modify curriculum, assessments, and instructional strategies.
Conduct academic assessments and analyze student progress data.
Participate in student support team meetings and parent conferences.
Maintain accurate records and documentation regarding student services and progress.
Support teachers in implementing best practices for differentiated instruction.
Work closely with families to communicate student growth, challenges, and strategies for success.
Foster a positive learning environment that respects the dignity and unique gifts of every child.
Collaborate with school personnel to ensure compliance with state and diocesan guidelines.
Participate in faculty meetings, professional development opportunities, and school activities.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Special Education, Exceptional Needs Education, or a related field required.
Valid Indiana teaching license in Special Education or ability to obtain licensure.
Experience working with students with diverse learning needs preferred.
Strong knowledge of differentiated instruction, intervention strategies, and progress monitoring.
Excellent communication, collaboration, and organizational skills.
Commitment to the mission and values of Catholic education.
