As a Research Pharmacy Technician, you will be responsible for supporting the delivery of high-quality pharmaceutical care to patients with complex medical conditions, often requiring specialized medications and therapies. This position will work closely with clinical research staff members to ensure safe administration of medications for clinical research patients as well as measuring patient compliance for clinical trials.
Responsibilities
~1 min read- →Receiving and verifying the accuracy and authenticity of investigational products prescriptions
- →Reviewing and recording patient information with their medication in compliance with the guidelines of the protocol
- →Stocking the pharmacy with inventory
- →Providing instructions to educate people on the correct way to take their medicine
- →Supporting the Pharmacist in the daily operation of the pharmacy
- →Protecting employees and patients by adhering to infection-control protocols and policies
- →Disbursing completed and confirmed meds to patients
- →Answering incoming calls and fielding patient questions
- →Maintaining a clean and safe pharmacy by complying with regulations, rules and procedures
- →Maintain accountability logs
- Certified Pharmacy Technician
- At least one (1) year experience working as a pharmacy tech at a private practice, hospital, or pharmacy setting
- Adhere to IRB approved protocols
- Understand good clinical practice (GCP) and regulatory compliance
- Comply with institutional policies, standard operating procedures (SOPs) and guidelines
- Knowledge of basic medical terminology
- Availability to work weekends as needed
- Effective communication, excellent attention to detail, strong information and time management, and administrative/computer skills
- Bilingual (Spanish-Speaking) preferred
- High school diploma or GED from an accredited institution required
- Associate degree or active Pharmacy Tech license preferred
- Minimum(1) year experience working in a clinical research setting preferred
