The Data Science team at Asana is pivotal in fulfilling our mission by fostering a data-driven approach in shaping both our product and business strategies. In your role on the Product Data Science team, you will be a key player in using data and scientific techniques to inform Asana’s product strategy and make product decisions. You will work closely with Engineering, Product, and Design leadership and the wider Asana data community to set priorities and help us scale. Your enthusiasm for mentoring and leading a team will be matched by your drive to solve complex technical challenges.
This role is based in our New York City office with an office-centric hybrid schedule. The standard in-office days are Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday. Most Asanas have the option to work from home on Wednesdays. Working from home on Fridays depends on the type of work you do and the teams with which you partner. What you’ll achieve:
- Guide the Product Data Science team in using data to set the right goals and strategy to hit them
- Lead and nurture a team of data scientists guiding their professional growth and expanding the team as necessary for ongoing business success.
- Collaborate with Product, Engineering, and Design leadership to choose our investments and decisions in AI and Collaborative Work Management.
- Take on a leadership role within the broader Asana Data Community with other Data Science teams, Data Engineering, and Analytics
- Over 5 years of experience in a comparable data science role
- At least 2 years of experience in managing a team of data scientists
- Experience working with Product, Engineering, and Design leadership to guide product strategy and make decisions
- Extensive track record in data-informed decision making, including defining success metrics, conducting observational inference and decision-making based on experimentation
- Demonstrates curiosity about AI tools and emerging technologies, with a willingness to learn and leverage them to enhance productivity, collaboration, or decision-making
- Experience with Enterprise SaaS products is a strong plus
