ASRC Federal Communications is seeking an Electrician for our ISS2 contract supporting our Air Force customer. This position is located Eareckson Air Station (EAS).
This is a rotational position in which the selected employee will work a schedule with 3 months on shift at a time, 1 month off, at Eareckson Air Station (EAS), located in Shemya, AK. While working on-site housing is provided in the form of a dormitory facility. All meals are furnished through the cafeteria. Transportation to EAS from Anchorage, AK is provided by government sponsored aircraft. This is a negotiated union position.
Position Summary
Provide installation, alteration, additions and/or repairs of electrical systems, conductors, and associated materials and equipment within the electrical construction industries. Will be working with power generation and large area power distribution.
Essential Duties & Job Functions
Responsible for installation and construction with some maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of electrical equipment
Knowledge of the proper use of standard wire, conduit, fittings and hardware commonly found in industrial plants.
Read and understand conduit drawings, schematics, drawings, and specifications.
Responsible for use and care of the tools and equipment commonly employed in industrial construction, including but not limited to:
hydraulic/electric benders,
knockout punch sets,
cable puller, meggers,
hi-pot equipment,
volt meters,
multi-testers
ammeter
Able to set and coordinate over-current protective devices, size feeder circuits and basic understanding to work on systems across the island.
Basic Qualifications
High school diploma or GED
Valid Journeyman Electrician's License
Ability to perform associated mathematical calculations.
Knowledge of principles and practices of safety management
Strong MS Office and other computer skills
Knowledge of pertinent local, state and federal laws, ordinances, codes, and rules
Ability to speak, write and read English.
Must have state drives licenses and acceptable record.
Must pass a background check, drug screening, fingerprints, and a fit-for-duty physical exam; candidates must be medically cleared for long-term residency in a remote location with limited access to healthcare.
Candidates must be a US citizen and be able to obtain and maintain a Secret Security Clearance
