ASRC Federal Advanced Research is currently seeking a Robotic (Autonomy) Engineer to support autonomy vehicle integrations in Sterling Heights, Michigan. Considering the state of the world today, military technical innovation is critical to defending our territories and those of our allies. The US Army is currently exploring advancements to equip ground combat forces with autonomous vehicle platforms. This effort presents a unique opportunity for civilians to participate in the research and development efforts that will shape future battlefield combat platforms.  Job Responsibilities: Develop and implement autonomous systems for ground, air, or maritime defense platforms (e.g., navigation, perception, decision-making algorithms). Design, integrate, and test software for robotics, AI/ML, and sensor fusion applications in contested environments. Design and optimize sensor fusion architecture utilizing LiDAR, radar, cameras, GPS, IMUs, and other onboard sensors. Develop verification and validation plans for autonomous capabilities and support system certification activities. Collaborate with systems, hardware, and software engineers to ensure seamless platform integration. Advise on platform scalability, cloud integration strategies, and continuous deployment models. Provides mentorship to engineers and reviews code for consistency, maintainability, and adherence to architecture. Support modeling, simulation, and hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) testing to validate autonomous behaviors. Apply computer vision, path planning, and control algorithms to enable mission execution with minimal human intervention. Ensure compliance with DoD standards, cybersecurity requirements, and safety-critical system guidelines. Conduct field testing, data collection, and performance analysis to refine autonomous capabilities. Conduct autonomy testing in complex off-road, contested, and GPS-denied environments. Develop technical documentation, briefings, and reports for government stakeholders Participate in design reviews, risk assessments, and program milestones (e.g., SRR, PDR, CDR). Stay current with emerging technologies in artificial intelligence, robotics, and autonomous systems to support innovation and mission advantage. Required Qualifications Ability to obtain and maintain a Government Secret Clearance. Willingness to travel CONUS and OCONUS 25% annually. Bachelor’s degree in Robotics, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering and 5-7 years experience.             ASRC Federal and its Subsidiaries are Equal Opportunity / Affirmative Action employers.
