Job Description Overview:

We are looking for an experienced Legal Counsel to join our legal team supporting the company’s operations in the United States and Canada. The ideal candidate will have 5+ years of legal experience in the technology hardware industry, excellent communication skills, and a strong background in commercial transactions. This role will involve close collaboration with various departments and global teams to ensure legal compliance, mitigate risks, and streamline processes.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Draft, review, and negotiate a variety of contracts with vendors and customers including non-disclosure, distribution, sales, logistics, marketing, after-sales service, SaaS and purchase agreements.
Proactively identify and address potential legal risks in contracts, providing clear and actionable recommendations to stakeholders to support business objectives.
Collaborate closely with external counsel and internal teams to ensure timely and effective resolution of legal disputes.
Provide insightful advice and guidance on internal practices to promote and ensure compliance across the organization.
Create comprehensive training materials and resources to foster a culture of compliance and awareness within the organization.

Required Qualifications:

Education and Experience:

Juris Doctor (JD) or foreign equivalent.
Admission to a US state bar and authorized to practice law in California.
5+ years of relevant attorney experience.

Minimum Knowledge and Skills:

Deep understanding of contract law and excellent negotiation skills.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a fast-paced, results-oriented environment.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.

Preferred Qualifications

In-house legal department experience, especially in the technology hardware industry
Experience with technology products and components.
Experience in one or more of consumer protection, e-commerce, esports, privacy, and trade compliance law.
Litigation or compliance experience.
Proficiency in Chinese is a plus

Working Conditions:

Typically works in an office environment, involving sitting certain hours a day, lifting up to 15 pounds, etc.

$150,000-$165,000 annually is the estimated pay range for this role working in Fremont, California office. The final amount will be determined based on qualifications & experience of the candidate relative to the role.
