The developer partners with technical teams and business stakeholders to deliver accurate, scalable, and maintainable data solutions.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Design, develop, and maintain ETL pipelines that load and transform data in Microsoft SQL Server data warehouse environments.

  • Translate business and source-system requirements into source-to-target mappings, transformation rules, and technical designs.

  • Write and optimize complex T-SQL, stored procedures, and reusable transformations for data extraction, cleansing, integration, and validation.

  • Develop, deploy, schedule, monitor, and support SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS) packages and workflows.

  • Develop and maintain dimensional data models, including fact and dimension tables, to support reporting and analytics.

  • Create and execute unit tests, data reconciliations, and validation routines to ensure data accuracy and completeness.

  • Monitor production SSIS packages and data pipelines, troubleshoot failures and data issues, and perform root-cause analysis.

  • Optimize SQL Server queries, stored procedures, SSIS packages, and data-loading performance.

  • Follow source-control, code-review, deployment, and change-management standards.

  • Document data flows, technical designs, transformation logic, dependencies, and operational support procedures.

  • Collaborate with data architects, analysts, application teams, and business stakeholders to deliver and support dependable data solutions.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field preferred; equivalent practical experience will be considered.

  • 3 to 5 years of hands-on experience developing and supporting data warehouse and ETL/ELT solutions.

  • Strong T-SQL skills, including complex queries, stored procedures, performance tuning, data validation, and troubleshooting.

  • Hands-on experience developing and supporting Microsoft SQL Server data warehouse solutions.

  • Strong hands-on experience with SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS), including package development, deployment, scheduling, monitoring, and error handling.

  • Experience designing and supporting ETL workflows, dependencies, restartability, logging, and production support processes.

  • Experience developing stored procedures and reusable data-transformation logic.

  • Strong understanding of data warehousing concepts, dimensional modeling, and ETL/ELT best practices.

  • Experience with testing, reconciliation, production support, and root-cause analysis for data pipelines.

  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

  • Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with both technical and business partners.

Preferred:

  • Experience in a retail environment or with retail data such as sales, inventory, merchandising, customer, loyalty, or supply chain data.

  • Experience with Snowflake, Snowpipe, or a comparable cloud data warehouse platform.

  • Experience supporting reporting and analytics tools such as Power BI or SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS).

  • Experience with data governance, data quality tools, or cloud-based data integration patterns.

  • Experience with Azure data services or other cloud data platforms and migration initiatives.
