Atlas Energy Solutions is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) Intern to support our Northeast operations team. This internship provides hands-on exposure to safety programs within a fast-paced industrial and logistics environment supporting oil and gas operations.

The selected candidate will work directly with the EHS team to support field safety initiatives, risk assessments, training development, inspections, and behavior-based safety efforts. This is an excellent opportunity for students pursuing a degree in Safety Management, Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Science, or a related field.

  • Real-world experience in industrial and oil & gas logistics safety operations
  • Exposure to field-based safety inspections and customer-facing environments
  • Involvement in Behavior-Based Safety (BBS) programs
  • Experience working with digital safety platforms and reporting tools
  • Direct mentorship from experienced EHS professionals
  • Opportunity to present findings and improvement initiatives to leadership
  • Completion of IADC RigPass with Basin United (credential valid for life)
  • First Aid, CPR, and AED Certification (valid for 2 years)

Responsibilities

  • Assist with field safety inspections and site observations
  • Participating in Safety Blitzes and operational audits
  • Support hazard identification and risk assessments
  • Assist with development and distribution of Toolbox Talks
  • Help track and analyze safety metrics and trends
  • Support incident investigations and corrective action tracking
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the EHS program
  • Assist in promoting safety culture initiatives across operations

Requirements

  • Currently pursuing a degree in:
    • Safety Management
    • Occupational Health & Safety
    • Environmental Science
    • Industrial Hygiene
    • Or related field
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • Ability to travel to operational sites within the region
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Teams)
  • Self-motivated with a strong attention to detail
  • Demonstrate ownership and accountability
  • Have a proactive approach to hazard recognition
  • Are comfortable engaging with field employees and supervisors
  • Value teamwork and continuous improvement
  • Want to make a measurable impact on safety performance

Requirements

  • Ability to visit active operational sites
  • Must be comfortable working in outdoor and industrial environments
    • FR Clothing and standard PPE i.e., Hard hat, Safety Glasses and Gloves will be supplied by Atlas
    • Student must be able to supply Safety Toed boots to wear on locations
  • Travel within the Northeast region (PA, OH, and WV) required
