Staff Software Engineer, BI Tooling and Platform

- Design, develop, and maintain software components that support the internal business intelligence tooling and platform used to generate and retrieve operational metrics

- Enhance code quality and system reliability through ongoing improvements, refactoring, and technical contributions that strengthen the architecture and performance of BI tooling
- Build and optimize user facing and internal platform features with attention to scalability, performance, fault tolerance, and efficient data access
- Translate business requirements into detailed technical plans by working closely with product teams, internal users, and subject matter experts to ensure alignment with operational needs
- Provide technical guidance to less experienced engineers and support their development through review of code, design discussions, and knowledge sharing. 100% remote
- Must reside in U.S.
- Reports to HQ in New York, NY.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor’s degree or U.S. equivalent in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field, plus 7 years of professional experience as a Software Developer, Software Engineer or any occupation, job title, position involving software development for backend systems.
Must also have experience in the following:
- 7 years of professional experience developing backend software systems using object-oriented programming principles and Java in production environments
- 7 years of professional experience working with relational and non-relational databases and distributed systems, including data storage, streaming, and processing technologies
- 7 years of professional experience architecting, implementing, and supporting high-scale, high availability applications supporting metrics, analytics, or data intensive workloads
- 7 years of professional experience developing data processing and platform solutions utilizing Python, SQL, and cloud-based data tools including Snowflake, DBT, Spark, Kinesis, Airflow, or PostgreSQL
- 7 years of professional experience developing and supporting AWS-based microservices and data pipelines supporting analytics platforms and operational reporting systems
- 7 years of professional experience implementing streaming or messaging architectures using event-driven platforms including Kafka or Pulsar
- 5 years of professional experience designing and maintaining business intelligence and data visualization workflows
- 5 years of professional experience collaborating with cross functional stakeholders to translate business requirements into technical architecture, data pipelines, and application features
- 4 years of professional experience designing and implementing microservices-based architectures and developing, GraphQL services and RESTful APIs for largescale, data-driven applications.

- The US base salary range for this full-time position is $193,461-$240,000 per year annually + equity + benefits
