• Take the initiative to see that the facility is neat and well maintained.
  • As evidenced by monthly sanitation reports.
• Consistently directs work performances of supervisors and staff to attain effective utilization of the labor force and ensure adherence to established standards of operation.
  
  • As evidenced by proper scheduling, control of overtime, and timely completion of tasks.
• Always utilizes food production procedures and planning systems to ensure maximum value is received from the food resources.
  
  • As evidenced by the proper use of recipes, production, and inventory systems.
• Collects and records quality control data based on the department plan. Assists Dietitians with Quality Assurance data collection as requested.
  
  • As evidenced by completion of monthly, quarterly, and yearly plans.
• Communicates effectively with the Nutrition services staff and all departments within the organization.
  
  • As evidenced by in-service, staff meetings, and completed assignments.
• Develops the skill of supervisors to enhance teamwork and improve skill levels within the department.
  
  • As evidenced by the efficient management of the department.
• Maintains and uses accurate cost records to evaluate past, present and future plans.
  
  • As evidenced by the proper use of recipes, production, and inventory systems.
• Make recommendations and suggestions to the Director for any special projects that benefit the department and the institution.
  
  • As evidenced by planning and completing at least 4 projects per year.
• Plans and produces special events and activities to break the monotony in the cafeteria and patient line.
  
  • As evidenced by at least 2 events per month.

• Education: High School Diploma or equivalent
• Licensure/Certification: None
• Experience: 
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in healthcare nutrition services management.
• Driver’s License: Yes
  • To drive an Augusta Health Vehicle, must also be 21 years old and Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) must be approved by Risk Management.
• Eligibility to work in the United States and meet Virginia state employment requirements

• Education: At least two years of college
• Licensure/Certification: None
• Experience: None
• Prior experience in a hospital, healthcare system, or related service-oriented environment
• Familiarity with Augusta Health’s systems, workflows, or organizational culture is a plus

• Must be proficient in all areas of Nutrition management.
• Is competent in all equipment used in Nutrition Services.
