The Electrician is responsible for installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, repairing, and testing electrical systems and equipment in residential, commercial, industrial, or construction environments. The role ensures all electrical work is performed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with applicable electrical codes, company procedures, and industry standards.

Responsibilities

  • Install, maintain, repair, and troubleshoot electrical wiring, equipment, fixtures, and control systems.
  • Read and interpret electrical drawings, schematics, blueprints, and technical manuals.
  • Install and terminate electrical cables, conduits, cable trays, switches, sockets, lighting fixtures, and distribution boards.
  • Inspect, test, and commission electrical systems using appropriate testing instruments.
  • Diagnose electrical faults and perform corrective repairs to minimize equipment downtime.
  • Install and maintain motors, control panels, circuit breakers, transformers, and electrical distribution systems.
  • Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on electrical equipment and machinery.
  • Ensure all installations comply with electrical codes, regulations, and project specifications.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records, inspection reports, and work orders.
  • Use electrical testing equipment such as multimeters, insulation resistance testers (megger), clamp meters, and continuity testers.
  • Maintain tools, equipment, and work areas in a clean and safe condition.
  • Follow company health, safety, and environmental (HSE) policies and wear the appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Strong knowledge of electrical systems, wiring methods, and electrical safety practices.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings, wiring diagrams, and technical specifications.
  • Proficiency in using electrical hand tools, power tools, and testing equipment.
  • Knowledge of electrical codes, standards, and regulations.
  • Strong troubleshooting and fault-finding skills.
  • Ability to install, test, and maintain electrical systems and equipment.
  • Good communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks.
  • Physical fitness to work at heights, in confined spaces, and in varying environmental conditions.
  • Strong commitment to safety, quality, and attention to detail.
