What You'll Do
The primary focus is to assist the medical personnel in the daily operations of the medical department.
Medical Care Protocols and Documentation
- Schedule medical appointments with the providers upon admission and follow-ups
- Schedule external appointments for patients as assigned ▪ Coordinate with the BHT for patient transportation
- Obtain records from any external appointment and upload to electronic medical record (EMR)
- Documentation of all external appointments in EMR ▪ Utilize and maintain medical tracker on a daily basis
- Schedule labs as ordered
- Maintain patient records in EMR, including but not limited to, uploading PDMP
- Clear orders from eRx for discharged patients
- Ensure pharmacy orders and prescription authorizations are completed
- Review rejected prior authorizations and document appropriately
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Coordination of Care
- Obtain and process all pharmacy authorizations, pending refills
- Obtain prior authorization for Sublocade and Vivitrol injections
- Schedule MAT injections and communicate with the nursing staff
- Ensure pharmacy delivers based on facility set-up
- Communicate with the pharmacy on any issues
- Communication and collaboration with treatment team is critical
- Notify appropriate staff of all patient concerns
- Managing supplies needed for medical department.
- Follow up and accountability for medication issues
What We're Looking For
- High school diploma
- QMA license in IN preferred
- Experience in substance use disorder (SUD) and/or behavioral health settings strongly preferred, with demonstrated understanding of recovery-oriented care and patient-centered support.
