~1 min readBefore it reaches our customer’s tap, drinking water is cleaned, disinfected and tested to ensure it’s safe to be consumed; after the water has been flushed and poured into our sewers, it’s delivered to our water recycling works, where it’s cleaned before it gets passed back to nature, where it’s also tested to ensure it’s not going to damage the environment.
We analyse and test hundreds of clean water and final effluent samples everyday.
Our samplers travel around the Anglian Water region visiting Anglian Water’s water treatment works and recycling centres, boreholes, reservoirs, rivers and customer properties collecting water samples and carrying out on-site chlorine tests.
We are looking for a Sampling Scheduler to assist in planning and co-ordinating the sampling programme to meet the regulatory and business need. You will operate our scheduling systems to ensure sampling events (planned and ad-hoc) are scheduled to ensure 100% compliance with regulatory and business requirements.
The role will liaise with the Sampling Managers to schedule workflow and resources proactively and dynamically.

Participate in sample scheduling as required and maintain a broad technical understanding of methods in your area of responsibility

Demonstrate flexible working to ensure that all samples are scheduled as planned, providing team cover as required

Demonstrate delivery of an effective and efficient service whilst maximising team flexibility

Participate in operational rotas and work schedules in line with business needs

Demonstrate excellent communication with Sampling Managers and Samplers to ensure all unplanned absence is captured and the sampling schedule is updated to ensure all samples are accounted for e.g. sickness cover, and vehicle breakdowns

Support the Sampling Managers to ensure all planned absence is captured by the scheduling team and agreed weekly prior to approval e.g. annual leave
