This opportunity is with a Supply Chain IT organization supporting transportation technology delivery across logistics operations, private fleet workflows, and third-party transportation processes. The team is focused on modernizing transportation systems, improving integration capabilities, and enabling more connected logistics operations through practical technology delivery. This role will join an active IT delivery team supporting TMS implementation, EDI modernization, and integration workstreams across business, IT, vendor, and implementation partner groups.

This is a 6-month contract opportunity structured in 3-month increments, with potential for full-time conversion based on business needs. The role is based in Charlotte, NC and requires onsite work 4 days per week. The final interview will also be conducted onsite, so local candidates or candidates already able to commute consistently to Charlotte will be the strongest fit. This is a project delivery role for someone who can step into an in-flight initiative, support analysis and design, and contribute quickly across transportation system and integration workstreams.

  • Support transportation technology delivery across TMS implementation, EDI modernization, system integrations, and logistics operations.
  • Partner with business stakeholders, IT teams, vendors, architects, developers, EDI/integration teams, and implementation partners to understand transportation processes, pain points, data flows, and desired outcomes.
  • Analyze and document business requirements, functional requirements, integration requirements, EDI transaction needs, process flows, data requirements, risks, gaps, assumptions, and dependencies.
  • Translate transportation business needs into actionable requirements, workflows, interface specifications, data mapping artifacts, testing deliverables, and solution design inputs.
  • Support current-state and future-state process definition across routing, dispatch, load tendering, shipment status, carrier management, freight settlement, invoicing, payment, reporting, and exception handling.
  • Partner with technical teams to define field-level requirements, message flows, file/API specifications, transformation rules, validation needs, and business meaning for data exchanged across TMS, ERP, EDI, and partner systems.
  • Assist with system testing, integration testing, EDI testing, UAT planning, defect triage, issue resolution, deployment readiness, and support transition.
  • Maintain clear documentation across requirements, process maps, data mappings, interface documentation, decision logs, testing evidence, risks, issues, dependencies, and operational handoff materials.
  • Support Agile and SDLC delivery practices, including backlog refinement, user story development, acceptance criteria, sprint reviews, issue tracking, and continuous improvement.
  • 5 to 7+ years of experience in business analysis, IT solution implementation, logistics systems, TMS implementation, EDI, integration, or related technology delivery.
  • Strong experience supporting transportation, logistics, supply chain, 3PL, brokerage, managed freight, dedicated transportation, or private fleet operations.
  • Experience supporting TMS implementations or logistics technology projects, preferably with third-party hosted or SaaS platforms such as Mastermind, SAP TM, TMW, or similar systems.
  • Understanding of transportation workflows such as order/load creation, planning, routing, dispatch, load tendering, shipment tracking, freight settlement, invoicing, payments, EDI status updates, and reporting.
  • Experience with integration-heavy projects involving ERP, TMS, EDI, APIs, middleware, reporting, external trading partners, or file-based data exchanges.
  • Familiarity with transportation EDI transactions such as 204 Load Tender, 214 Shipment Status, and 210 Freight Invoice is strongly preferred.
  • Ability to support data mapping, source-to-target requirements, field-level analysis, message structure design, transformation rules, validations, error handling, and reconciliation needs.
  • Experience supporting testing activities, including system testing, integration testing, EDI testing, UAT coordination, defect tracking, retesting, and sign-off support.
  • Strong communication, facilitation, documentation, problem-solving, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Computer Science, Information Technology, Supply Chain, or a related field preferred, or equivalent work experience.
  • Experience with SAP S/4, SAP Integration Suite, SAP TM, TMW, Mastermind, or similar transportation and integration platforms is preferred.
  • Must be able to work onsite in Charlotte, NC 4 days per week and attend an onsite final interview.
