Join a collaborative project management team supporting enterprise operations and technology transformation within the insurance and financial services sector. This team partners across business, technology, claims operations, and senior leadership to improve operational efficiency, enhance customer experience, and modernize critical business platforms. The environment is highly cross-functional, execution-focused, and ideal for a project manager who can influence stakeholders, communicate clearly, and drive progress across complex enterprise initiatives.

This is a contract-to-hire opportunity with an initial 3-month contract period and strong potential for conversion based on performance and business need. The role follows a hybrid schedule with onsite work Tuesday and Wednesday in Glen Allen, VA. The selected project manager will step into active initiatives and play a key role in helping teams maintain momentum, improve delivery visibility, and support high-priority transformation work.

• Lead active operations and technology projects across claims, business operations, and IT delivery teams.
• Manage hybrid Agile/Waterfall projects where development teams may work iteratively, while release planning, UAT, training, and production readiness require structured project oversight.
• Build detailed project plans, track milestones, monitor risks, and provide clear delivery updates to leadership.
• Coordinate with Agile delivery teams, business stakeholders, operations leaders, and technical partners to keep workstreams aligned.
• Support initiatives involving legacy system modernization, migration to newer platforms, operational automation, invoice digitization, and customer experience improvements.
• Prepare concise, polished project communications for senior leaders, including VP-level stakeholders and executive audiences.
• Influence stakeholders across a large enterprise environment to resolve blockers, clarify priorities, and maintain project momentum.
• Ensure end users, business teams, and operational groups are prepared for UAT, training, process changes, and production release activities.

• 5+ years of project management experience, preferably in a large enterprise environment.
• Experience managing projects that combine Agile delivery with Waterfall-style planning, reporting, release coordination, UAT, and business readiness.
• Hands-on experience using ServiceNow for project, ticket, workflow, or delivery tracking.
• Strong executive communication skills, including polished PowerPoint updates, concise status reporting, and attention to detail.
• Demonstrated ability to influence stakeholders across business and technology teams without relying solely on formal authority.
• Experience managing in-flight projects, driving execution, tracking risks, and keeping teams accountable.
• Strong facilitation, problem-solving, planning, organization, and follow-through skills.
• Experience with Microsoft Office, PowerPoint, Excel, Teams, Visio, and/or Miro.
• PMP or CAPM certification preferred but not required.
• Insurance, claims, financial services, Pega, invoice automation, operational improvement, or customer experience project experience preferred.
