The Maintenance Technician I is an entry-level maintenance position designed for training and development.

Under the direction of the Maintenance Manager and with assistance from more experienced maintenance personnel, the Maintenance Technician I will learn to:

  • Perform scheduled and preventive maintenance.
  • Assist with troubleshooting and repairing production equipment.
  • Document maintenance activities and equipment repairs.
  • Develop skills working with electrical, electronic, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.

The Maintenance Technician I must demonstrate the ability and willingness to quickly learn new technical skills while working in a fast-paced, 24/7 manufacturing environment.

  • →Help ensure production lines and equipment are properly maintained and operational.
  • →Demonstrate a consistent desire to learn and improve in all maintenance responsibilities, duties, and tasks.
  • →Maintain guarding and safety equipment on production lines.
  • →Follow required Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures when working on equipment, including isolating energy sources and applying the appropriate personal lock.
  • →Support and assist with preventive maintenance activities as needed.
  • →Assist with production line commissioning following maintenance or process events.
  • →Participate in plant projects as needed.
  • →Complete end-of-shift documentation and provide it to the appropriate lead.
  • →Operate in a manner that provides value to the team.
  • →Perform additional duties as needed and/or assigned by supervision or management.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, and Outlook.
  • Stick and wire welding experience.
  • Forklift experience with the ability to complete the required forklift certification program.
  • Flexibility to work schedules based on business needs.
  • Ability to be self-directed, motivated, and able to multitask in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • 0–1 year of experience in a similar maintenance position.
  • Enrollment in advanced education, maintenance training, or a related certification program.
  • Structural welding certification.
  • Manufacturing experience.
  • Working knowledge of extrusion processes, twin-screw equipment, or blending systems.
  • Knowledge of PLC logic and technology.
